Description: A new elementary school designed as a prototype which included classroom pods for Pre-K through 6th grade, art studio, cafetorium, science area, library, extended day care, gymnasium, facilities for the disabled, and administration area. This facility served as the prototypical design for a second school, Quail Valley Elementary School.

Description: A 124,400 square foot facility to be used as a center for excellence. This school is designed to offer special programs centered around technology. The facility will also serve as an alternative school for grades 5 through 12. Classroom pods surround the centrally located technology pod with outdoor study areas at each pod.

East Houston Intermediate School (A.G. Hilliard Elementary School)  Project Name:     East Houston Intermediate School (A.G. Hilliard Elementary School)

Description: A 107,000 square feet new fifth and sixth grade intermediate school for the North Forest Independent School District. This School has academic pods with a common area teaching area that surround the common core which includes administration, media center, computer lab, science labs and art rooms. The dining room, gymnasium auditorium, band, choir, dance and community room is oriented to be utilized on weekends with opening the entire school. The entire school is wired for state-of-the-art technology. (These schools are prototypes and are currently being used as full elementary schools.)

Description: A new 104,000 square foot facility which houses grades kindergarten through fourth grade. This school will be a prototype for additional schools to be constructed at a later date. The uniqueness of this design is the layout of classroom pods. Restrooms, teacher work room and commons area are provided within each pod. The focus point of the school is the central location of the library and computer lab.

J. W. Ray Learning Center  Project Name:     J. W. Ray Learning Center
Location:   Dallas, Texas
Client:   Dallas Independent School District
Services:   Architect of Record - Programming, Architecture and Interior Design
Cost / Building Area:   $7M / 36,000 S.F.
Description: A one-story addition that includes classrooms, new science labs, cafeteria, auditorium, choral, kitchen, gymnasium and support facilities. The existing two-story school was renovated to include library, administration area, existing classroom and computer labs. This project is relevant to the proposed project because it is an addition to an existing educational facility; an elevator was added to comply with ADA requirements, and the entire school was wired for state-of-the-art technology which included distance learning, video conferencing, etc.
